Dear Reader, Human Vaccines intends to publish Meeting Reports on important conferences in the field of Vaccinology. We believe that such reports, which summarize and critically discuss what was presented at different meetings, can be very useful for scientists in our community who were not able to attend the event. The current issue features a review by Drs. Gabrielle Belz and Anne De Groot on the Sir Mark Oliphant Conference on Vaccine and Immunotherapy Technologies held in Canberra, Australia on 9-11 April 2008. In one of our upcoming issues, you will find reviews on the World Vaccine Congress Washington 2008. Authors are encouraged to contact the Editor-in-Chief with proposals for Meeting Reports on future conferences. Furthermore, meeting organizers can contact us to propose that we publish abstracts of individual presentations or summary articles at vaccine conferences in a supplement to Human Vaccines. Continuing with our series Portrait of a Leading Vaccinologist, this issue features the portrait of Dr. Fred Clark from The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, PA, USA.
