Janice M. Reichert, Ph.D.

Dr. Reichert has studied innovation in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries at the Tufts Center for the Study of Drug Development since 1999. Her work includes strategic analyses of candidate and approved products, including clinical development and approval times, phase transition probabilities, and approval success rates for new therapeutics and vaccines. These analyses have been featured in over 25 publications by Dr. Reichert. Her recent work includes studies of monoclonal antibodies as cancer therapeutics and as antiviral drugs.

Dr. Reichert has presented her research results as an invited speaker at conferences in the United States, Canada, Europe and China. She was co-chair of the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council's Clinical Trials Committee for five years and has served on the editorial boards of three journals. In addition, Dr. Reichert regularly provides input to various government, non-profit, and industry organizations such as the National Institutes of Health, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative, and the Biotechnology Industry Organization.

Dr. Reichert received her Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania and her postdoctoral training as a National Institutes of Health Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School. Before joining the Tufts Center for the Study of Drug Development, Dr. Reichert performed drug discovery research and preclinical development at several companies in the Boston area.
