It has come to the attention of the authors that in the report entitled “Chemotherapy induces ATP release from tumor cells” in Cell Cycle Volume 8, Issue 22, a panel was inadvertently exchanged in
Figure 2. (F) Cells that were either left untreated (control) or were treated with mitoxantrone for 12 h were subjected to a triple staining with the vital dye 4',6-diaminidino-2-phenylindole (DAPI, blue fluorescence), the mitochondrial transmembrane potential-sensitive dye tetramethylrhodamine methyl ester perchlorate (TMRM, red fluorescence) and Annexin V-FITC (green fluorescence). Using the indicated gates, cells were sorted and then lysed for ATP determinations (X ± SEM, triplicates) by conventional methods. Note that ATP was undetectable among dead (DAPI+) cells (gates marked as “X”) (N.D., not done). Each experiment has been repeated at least twice, yielding comparable results.
