We wish to retract our research article High-resolution analysis of genomic profiles of hepatocellular carcinoma cells with differential osteopontin expression (Cancer Biol Ther 2008; 7: In press). After repeating our original experiment, we found an error in our data pertaining to the Arry CGh analysis. We have come to realize DNA from six HCC samples tissues (page 7 line 3) were actually from one or two patients because we were careless and sent the wrong DNA samples to the related lab which performs Array CGH analysis. This may have been caused by incorrect labeling during sample collection or poor sample management due to limited funds. In order to correct this error, we need to redesign a new experiment. Because of this, we are retracting the paper in its entirety. We deeply regret any scientific misconceptions that have resulted from the publication of this data.
