The ISCO 2008 congress website has just been updated. It provides a lot of useful meeting information, the provisional program, and access to online registration and abstract submission.
The genomics and proteomics revolution continues to have a tremendous impact on cancer research and has provided unprecedented insights into its basic mechanisms. The molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying the development, growth, differentiation and death of normal and neoplastic cells are increasingly being elucidated. The current challenge to the medical-scientific community is to carry these new insights forward and to translate them into new clinical applications. Ultimately, this will have to result in the identification of novel diagnostic and prognostic markers, and of therapeutic targets towards prevention and clinical management of pathological conditions caused by aberrations in cell growth and homeostasis.
ISCO 2008 will be an excellent opportunity for specialists in cellular oncology and associated cancer research disciplines to meet their peers and colleagues and exchange the latest research findings in one of the many sessions. Topics will be discussed from the basic as well as the clinical point of view, and in particular, at the interface of basic research and clinical practice.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
ISCO 2008 in Amsterdam will be the next congress of the International Society for Cellular oncology. The ISCO Congress 2007 to be held in Genoa, Italy, which we announced previously, has been postponed and moved to Amsterdam.
