Typical pattern of Bcl2 immunohistochemical staining in matched colon carcinoma and metastasis reveals loss of Bcl2 protein expression in the liver metastases. This surprising finding reported by David McConkeyÕs group (Termuhlen et al., this issue) correlates with an observed increase in apoptosis that is statistically significant and controlled for proliferation rate.
