Trichostatin A (TSA) was found to inhibit BubR1 phosphorylation which resulted in aberrant localization of BubR1 to kinetochores. The image shows proper localization of BubR1 (green) to paired kinetochores (red) in cells treated with Nocodazole. Gary Kao and colleagues found that treatment with TSA resulted in poor BubR1 localization to kinetochores of mitotic cells. See Dowling et al. in this issue for further details of this mitotic spindle checkpoint inactivation and its potential therapeutic applications.
