In January 2010 we will launch Bioengineered Bugs, the first international peer-reviewed journal of its kind to focus on genetic engineering which involves the generation of recombinant strains (from higher plants and animals to bacteria, fungi and viruses) and their metabolic products for beneficial applications in food, medicine, industry, environment and bio-defense.

Bioengineered Bugs boasts an impressive international Editorial Board, including some of the most influential names in recombinant DNA technology and aims to be one of the leading journals in the biotechnology arena.

• Bioengineered Bugs publishes:
• Original research papers,
• Review articles (including micro- and mini-reviews),
• Original hypotheses,
• Commentaries,
• Letters to the Editor,
• Addenda,
• Meeting reports.

• Each issue will appear in print and online and will be PubMed/Medline and ISI indexed upon approval (within the first 18 months).
• Attractive images will be considered for publication on the journal cover.
• The journal will utilize an online submission system designed to allow manuscripts to be tracked at each stage of the review process.
• Editors undertake to review all papers within two weeks.
• Furthermore, if a paper is accepted by Bioengineered Bugs it will be published online within two weeks resulting in a turn around time from submission to publication of just one month. • Page and color charges are waived for the first 4 issues and any content posted on the website from now until 2011 will always be free.
• Authors will recieve a free print version of the issue containing their paper.
• Papers rejected from other high impact journals may be considered for accelerated review if authors provide the previous reviewers' comments and editorial decision.
